Custom porcelain veneers for Indianapolis's east side, planned by Dr. Louis Abukhalaf, Kois Center-trained cosmetic dentist.

Veneers for the East Side: 46219, 46226, 46229, 46235, 46236

Indianapolis's east side covers a wide stretch of neighborhoods, from Irvington's historic district near downtown to the Geist Reservoir communities on the city's outer edge. Patients across this area share an interest in cosmetic dentistry but differ in their priorities. Some want a single chipped tooth fixed. Others want a six- or eight-veneer smile transformation. Some have grown up on the east side and stayed. Others moved out to Geist or Cumberland recently and are still establishing relationships with local providers.

SmileCentric East is the east side's cosmetic dental home base. Our office on Shortridge Road in 46219 is geographically central to the east-side ZIPs: 46219, 46226, 46229, 46235, and 46236. From most of these, the drive is fifteen minutes or less. From McCordsville and New Palestine, twenty to twenty-five minutes.

Meet Dr. Louis Abukhalaf

Dr. Abukhalaf personally plans and places every veneer case at SmileCentric East. His DDS is from Marquette, magna cum laude. His undergraduate degree is summa cum laude from Loyola Chicago. The training that matters most for veneer work is his postgraduate education at the Kois Center in Seattle, which is one of the country's leading institutes for cosmetic dentistry. He is also a graduate of the Misch Implant Institute, relevant when veneer planning overlaps with implant or restorative reconstruction.

He has been practicing in Indianapolis for years and treats patients across the entire east side. His approach is consistent regardless of which neighborhood the patient is from: plan the case in digital preview, prepare conservatively, try in before bonding, and aim for results that still look natural ten to fifteen years out.

How We Plan Your Veneers

Your first visit is a planning conversation. We photograph your smile from multiple angles, take an intraoral scan of your teeth, and capture a short video of how your face moves when you talk and smile. Using Digital Smile Design software, we build a 3D preview of how your veneers will look on your face. You approve the design before any preparation begins.

Tooth preparation is conservative. For most cases, we remove a fraction of a millimeter of enamel; for some, none at all. The less we remove, the stronger your underlying teeth stay. You wear temporaries that approximate the final design while the porcelain is being fabricated, which lets you live with the look for a few weeks before bonding. If anything needs to change, we change it before the porcelain is cemented.

Final bonding is one visit. You see the try-in version under natural light, approve the shade and shape, and we bond with cosmetic-grade adhesive. Polish, bite check, and the case is complete.

East Side Neighborhoods We Serve

Irvington and 46219

Irvington is our home neighborhood. The office is on Shortridge Road just north of Washington Street, walking distance from the Irvington Historic District. Patients in 46219, Warren Park, and Pleasant Run reach us in five to ten minutes. For deeper detail on 46219-specific veneer treatment, see our 46219 page.

Cumberland and 46229

Cumberland sits along the historic National Road (US-40), about ten minutes east of our office on Washington Street. Patients from Cumberland Heritage, the Pennsy Trail neighborhoods, and the new construction east of Carroll Road are core to our east-side patient base. For Cumberland-specific information, see our 46229 page.

Lawrence Township (46226, 46235, 46236)

Lawrence Township covers a large arc of Indianapolis's northeast, from Devington and Brendonwood in 46226 through Oaklandon in 46235 and out to the Geist Reservoir communities in 46236. Patients in this area typically reach us via Shadeland Avenue or 56th Street, a drive of fifteen to twenty minutes depending on starting point. Our Geist-specific page (/veneers-near-46236/) covers the lake-area communities in more detail.

Pricing and Financing

We provide an itemized written estimate at the planning visit. That is the price; we do not add fees once treatment is underway. Cost varies by the number of teeth, the material, and whether preparatory work makes sense before veneer placement.

PPO dental insurance claims are filed by us. Most plans treat veneers as cosmetic and contribute little, but we verify benefits up front. For uninsured patients, our Membership Discount Plan covers preventive work at a flat annual fee and discounts cosmetic treatment. OrthoFi financing splits veneer cases into fixed monthly payments.

Veneers FAQs

How do I know if I need veneers vs. whitening, bonding, or crowns?

Whitening is the right starting point for color-only changes on otherwise healthy teeth. Bonding is best for small chips and minor edge repairs at lower cost. Crowns are for teeth that have significant structural damage. Veneers sit in between — durable enough for long-term wear, less invasive than crowns, more refined than bonding. The planning visit is where we tell you honestly which option fits your case.

Can I just do my front two teeth?

Yes, if the rest of your smile is in good shape. Many patients start with two veneers and add more later. The key is making sure the two veneers match the surrounding teeth in shade and shape. If you also want whitening, doing that before the veneers makes the match cleaner.

How do veneers age?

Properly placed porcelain veneers age more like jewelry than like dental work. The porcelain itself doesn't stain or wear down significantly. The bonded margin, where the veneer meets the natural tooth, is where you'll occasionally see wear. With good cleaning habits and night-guard protection if you grind, ten to fifteen years is typical and longer is common.

What if I'm an east-side resident but my drive to your office is the limiting factor?

Our schedule accommodates batch appointments — for example, planning visit and intraoral scan combined where possible — to minimize trips. We also schedule veneer appointments at times that avoid east-side rush-hour windows. If you're coming from Geist or McCordsville, mid-morning or early-afternoon slots are usually fastest.
