Custom porcelain veneers from a Kois-trained cosmetic dentist, ten minutes from your front door.

Custom Veneers Built Around Your Smile

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain bonded to the front of your teeth. They cover chips, stains that whitening cannot lift, small gaps, worn edges, and minor crowding. Done well, they look like your own teeth on their best day. Done poorly, they look like veneers, which is the outcome we work hard to avoid.

At SmileCentric East on Shortridge Road, we plan every veneer case before we touch a tooth. You see a 3D preview of how the final smile will sit on your face, you approve the shape and shade, and only then do we move to preparation. If you are doing a single veneer to match an existing tooth, the work is precision color and contour. If you are doing six or eight, the work is also balance and proportion across the smile.

We use porcelain when durability and lifelike translucency matter most, which is the majority of cases. We use composite (a layered tooth-colored resin done chairside in one visit) when budget or timing makes porcelain harder to schedule. Both have a place. We will tell you honestly which fits what you want to achieve.

Meet Dr. Louis Abukhalaf — Your Veneers Dentist

dr-louis abukhalaf top dentist indianapolis

Dr. Abukhalaf is the dentist who will plan and place your veneers. He earned his DDS magna cum laude from Marquette and his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Loyola Chicago in chemistry and biochemistry. His postgraduate training is what matters most for veneers work: the Kois Center in Seattle, which is one of the few advanced-education centers in the country focused specifically on the science of bite, smile design, and predictable cosmetic outcomes. He is also a graduate of the Misch Implant Institute, which is relevant when your veneers plan overlaps with implant or full-mouth reconstruction work.

He treats patients across Irvington, Warren Park, and the wider 46219 area, and he sees veneers as a long-term commitment between the practice and the patient, not a one-and-done procedure.

How We Plan Your Veneers

Digital Smile Design and Shade Matching

Your first appointment is a planning visit, not a surgical one. We take high-resolution photographs, an intraoral scan (no putty trays), and a video of how your smile moves. From that, we design your veneers digitally and show you exactly how they will look on your face. If you want them slightly longer, slightly whiter, or shaped differently, we change the design before any tooth gets touched.

Conservative Tooth Preparation

Most of our veneer cases are minimal-prep or no-prep when the bite allows. That means we remove very little enamel, sometimes none at all. The less we remove, the stronger the underlying tooth stays. The reason this matters: veneers are reversible only if there is enough tooth left underneath. Conservative prep protects your options decades from now.

Try-In and Final Bonding

Before we cement anything permanently, you wear a try-in version of the veneers and check them in your own mirror, your own lighting, in front of the people whose opinions you trust. If the shade is off by a hair, we adjust before bonding. Once you approve, the porcelain is bonded with the same adhesive systems used in cosmetic offices across the country, and we polish to a finish that matches the natural luster of your other teeth.

Our Office in 46219

SmileCentric East is at 115 N Shortridge Road, Suite 200, just north of the East Washington corridor in the heart of 46219. From Irvington, we're five minutes east on Washington Street. From Warren Park, we're three minutes south. From Pleasant Run, we're a straight shot up Shortridge.

There is parking in the building's lot, so no parallel parking on Washington and no walk from a structure. We schedule veneer consultations and try-ins so they don't overlap, which keeps the lobby quiet and your appointment time predictable.

What 46219 Patients Choose Us For

  • Kois Center cosmetic training. Most general dentists place veneers occasionally. Kois-trained dentists train specifically in the science of cosmetic outcomes.
  • Same dentist start to finish. Dr. Abukhalaf plans your case, prepares the teeth, and bonds the final veneers. You do not get handed between providers.
  • In-house planning and try-in. You preview your new smile before you commit. No bait-and-switch on shape or shade.
  • PPO insurance accepted where applicable. We submit the claims. Veneers are usually classified as cosmetic, so most plans contribute little, but we tell you that upfront in writing.
  • Membership Discount Plan and OrthoFi financing for patients without dental insurance, with monthly payment options reviewed before treatment begins.

Veneers Pricing and Payment Options at SmileCentric East

Veneer pricing varies by the number of teeth, the material, and the amount of preparation required. We write you an itemized estimate at the planning visit, before any work begins, and that estimate is the price. We do not add fees once treatment is underway.

If you are uninsured, our Membership Discount Plan covers exams, cleanings, and X-rays at a flat annual fee and discounts cosmetic work including veneers. OrthoFi financing breaks veneer treatment into fixed monthly payments. We will run the numbers with you at the consultation, not over the phone, because the right answer depends on your case.

Is a Veneers Treatment Right for You?

Veneers work well if you are an adult with healthy gums, sufficient enamel, and a stable bite. If you grind your teeth at night, we will plan a night guard as part of the case so your investment lasts. If you have active decay or untreated gum disease, those get addressed first. Veneers placed over an unstable foundation do not stay beautiful for long.

Patients who do well with veneers usually share one trait: they know what they want their smile to look like, and they want a dentist who will plan carefully rather than rush the case. If that sounds like you, we are a good fit.

Veneers FAQs

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With conservative preparation, good bonding technique, and a night guard if you grind, porcelain veneers commonly last 10 to 15 years. Some go longer. The bonded margins and the underlying tooth are what fail first, not the porcelain itself.

Do veneers ruin your teeth?

No, when prep is conservative. The concern most patients have heard about comes from older techniques that removed substantial enamel. Modern minimal-prep methods remove a fraction of a millimeter or, in some cases, no enamel at all. The tooth underneath stays largely intact.

How many veneers will I need?

It depends on what you want to change. A single chipped tooth needs one. A wider "new smile" usually means six to eight on the upper front teeth. Some patients add four to six on the lower front teeth. We map this out at the planning visit using the digital preview so you see the count before you commit to the cost.

How do veneers compare to bonding or crowns?

Bonding is faster and less expensive, but stains over time and chips more readily. Crowns cover the entire tooth and remove more structure than veneers. Veneers sit in between: more durable than bonding, less invasive than crowns. The right choice depends on how much tooth structure is involved and how much aesthetic precision you want.
