Dr. Louis Abukhalaf graduated magna cum laude from the Marquette University School of Dentistry, after a chemistry and biochemistry degree summa cum laude from Loyola University Chicago. He completed advanced implant training at the Misch International Implant Institute, the program founded by the late Dr. Carl Misch, and continues postgraduate study at the Kois Center.

This one is short. From anywhere in the 46229 ZIP code, head west on US 40 (East Washington Street) and turn north on Shortridge Road. Our building sits on the east side of Shortridge, just north of Washington Street. The drive takes about eight to twelve minutes outside of rush hour, sometimes less.
If you are coming from the Pennsy Trail or the Cumberland Heritage Park area, the trail crosses Shortridge Road south of our office, so you can come up Shortridge directly without using Washington Street at all.

How long do implants last?
Long-term studies report success rates around 95 percent at 10 years and beyond when patients keep up with cleanings and home care. The implant post itself can last for life. The crown on top is a separate part and may need replacement once or twice over decades.
Does the procedure hurt?
Placement is done under local anesthesia and most patients are surprised by how little they feel. Mild soreness for a few days afterward is common. Sedation is available for patients who want it.
What if I do not have enough bone?
Bone grafting can rebuild the volume needed. Your 3D scan at the consultation will show whether grafting is needed and how much.
Can I get implants if I currently wear dentures?
Yes. Many full-arch implant patients come to us already wearing dentures and ready to be done with them.
